Colombia Toes Line On WTO-Ordered Customs Reform

Law360, New York (April 13, 2010, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Colombia has fully adopted recommendations from the World Trade Organization's dispute body on how the country runs its border with Panama, rejigging its system of customs control and customs valuation.

“Colombia believes that with these actions it is now in full conformity with its obligations under the WTO,” Colombia said in a Friday submission to the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body. The agency had given Colombia until Feb. 4 to implement its recommendations, a deadline Colombia says it met.
