Judge Slams EPA's 'Glacial Slowness' On Everglades

Law360, New York (April 14, 2010, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Accusing the government of "glacial slowness," a federal judge in Florida on Wednesday ordered the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state regulators to protect the Everglades from pollution in compliance with the Clean Water Act.

U.S. District Judge Alan Gold of the Southern District of Florida ruled on Wednesday that regulators have continued to fail to enforce a 2008 ruling and ordered the EPA's regional administrator and the executive director of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to personally appear in court.
