Energizer Countersues Gillette Over Diamond Coating Patents

Law360, New York (June 17, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Energizer Holdings Inc. has filed a countersuit against Gillette Co. over four Gillette patents for diamond coating on razors.

Energizer's lawsuit, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in New Haven, Conn., seeks a court order that no valid patents are infringed. Energizer and its Schick-Wilkinson unit are asking a judge to rule that its products don't infringe the patents or that the patents are invalid.

Energizer bought Schick-Wilkinson from Pfizer Inc. in March 2003 and started to challenge Gillette in the nondisposable shaving razor market....
