Kan. Natural Gas Rules Violate Federal Laws: Judge

Law360, New York (April 15, 2010, 5:44 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has determined that Kansas' statutes governing natural gas storage violate federal regulations, awarding summary judgment to Colorado Interstate Gas Co. in its suit seeking declaratory relief against five state officials.

Judge Sam Crow of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas on Tuesday granted the company's motion for summary judgment while denying the defendants' cross-motion for summary judgment, concluding that the Kansas Gas Storage Statutes and the Kansas Gas Storage Regulations violate the Supremacy Clause of Article VI of the U.S....
