House Panel Approves Energy Efficiency Rebate Bill

Law360, New York (April 15, 2010, 5:29 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee has advanced a bill that would establish a $6 billion rebate program for the installation of energy efficient home upgrades.

The committee passed the Home Star Energy Retrofit Act of 2010, also known as H.R. 5019, on Thursday by a 30-17 vote, amid concerns surrounding the cost of the project.
