Biotech Patenting Down, Lawsuits Up, Report Finds

Law360, New York (June 18, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Biotech and pharmaceutical companies are patenting less but litigating more, intellectual property law firm Finnegan Henderson concludes in a report on biotech patent trends.

The report was released at the BIO 2004 conference in San Francisco last week.

After rising considerably during the 1990s, biotech and pharmaceutical patenting have leveled off in recent years, the report found.
