EPA Must Enact Stricter Pollution Laws For Electric Cos.

Law360, New York (April 16, 2010, 3:15 PM EDT) -- Environmental and public health groups have prevailed in their suit to force the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to quickly put out stricter regulations regarding hazardous air pollutants in the electricity generation sector, despite opposition from a utility interest group.

Judge Rosemary M. Collyer, ruling Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, said a consent order reached between the plaintiffs and the EPA would stand and ordered the case closed.
