Abbott Hit With Permanent Injunction

Law360, New York (January 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The judge overseeing a patent suit between Abbott Laboratories Inc. and Innogenetics NV over hepatitis C genotyping technology has issued a permanent injunction prohibiting Abbott from selling or using products that infringe on an Innogenetics’ patent.

The injunction, handed down Wednesday by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, also bars Abbott from exporting components of the infringing products out of the U.S.

The court’s holding left Abbott vowing to appeal.
