Almatis Hires Gibson Dunn For US Restructing Effort

Law360 (April 19, 2010, 7:41 PM EDT) -- Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP has announced it will represent aluminum input producer Almatis in an expected U.S. bankruptcy filing as part of a $1 billion restructuring effort involving Oaktree Capital Management LP.

The firm announced on Monday that it will be representing the company, the world’s largest producer of so-called alumina products, which are used in production of aluminum and for other industrial purposes, in an anticipated Chapter 11 filing.

Specifically, the German company produces alumina-based materials for furnaces, incinerators and ceramics.
