USTR Eyes Abandonment Of Tariffs On Green Goods

Law360, New York (April 20, 2010, 4:24 PM EDT) -- Amid ongoing efforts to strengthen foreign trade relations, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk has directed the International Trade Commission to study the economic impact of removing tariffs on environmental goods.

Kirk penned a two-page letter to ITC Chairwoman Shara L. Aranoff on Thursday, requesting that the commission update a 2002 report using more recent data to give some idea of whether the U.S. could sustain a total elimination of duties on products from all trading partners.
