SEC Holds Settlement Talks With Ex-Qwest Execs

Law360, New York (January 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has held preliminary settlement talks with five former Qwest Communications International Inc. executives in a move to resolve a suit over their involvement in the phone company’s massive accounting scheme.

Six of the 12 former Qwest executives have already reached settlements with the SEC after the agency initiated a civil suit against them in March 2005, and former chief financial officer Robin Szeliga tentatively resolved SEC allegations earlier this month.
