Obama To Pick Top Court Nominee By End Of May

Law360, New York (April 21, 2010, 4:05 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama said Wednesday that he planned to make his nomination to fill retiring Justice John Paul Stevens' seat on the U.S. Supreme Court by the end of May.

Obama spoke to reporters before meeting with bipartisan leaders of the U.S. Senate and the Senate Judiciary Committee. After the meeting, he called nine other senators — including three Republicans — who serve on the Judiciary Committee, according to the White House.
