Senate OKs Schroeder To Head DOJ Legal Policy Office

Law360, New York (April 21, 2010, 6:51 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Wednesday voted 72-24 to confirm O'Melveny & Myers LLP attorney and Duke University School of Law professor Christopher Schroeder as head of the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Legal Policy, which vets federal judges.

Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, had accused Republicans of stonewalling the confirmation, pointing out that Schroeder was first nominated 11 months ago.
