UK Watchdog Probes Cathay, Virgin Over Price-Fixing

Law360, New York (April 22, 2010, 12:58 PM EDT) -- Britain's Office of Fair Trading is investigating Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. and Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. over allegations the airlines colluded to fix prices on flights between London and Hong Kong.

The U.K. competition authority has issued a statement of objections to the two airlines, alleging that they had been in contact for several years with “the object of coordinating the parties' respective pricing strategies regarding passenger fares through the exchange of commercially sensitive information on pricing and other commercial matters,” the OFT said Thursday....
