Ford Seeks $3M In Duty Refunds On Jaguar Imports

Law360, New York (April 22, 2010, 3:08 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. has lodged a new suit demanding refunds on duties paid on nearly $780 million worth of imported Jaguar vehicles, accusing the U.S. government of liquidating the entries in an inaccurate and untimely manner.

The government took more than its statutory four-year time limit to liquidate three 2005 entries of imported cars, then assigned the wrong appraisal value to the entries when it finally closed the books, Ford said in a summons entered Wednesday in the U.S. Court of International Trade.
