Dems Ask Tobacco Cos. To Cough Up Marketing Docs

Law360, New York (April 22, 2010, 7:10 PM EDT) -- Reps. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Bart Stupak, D-Mich., have asked six tobacco companies to produce a raft of documents detailing how their practices have changed in light of new laws on marketing tobacco to children.

Waxman, who chairs the House Energy and Commerce Committee and Stupak, who chairs a subcommittee, sent out their request Tuesday to the heads of the companies, which include Commonwealth Brands Inc., a unit of Imperial Tobacco PLC.
