Former Energy CEO Asks To Be Released From Prison

Law360, New York (January 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Attorneys for a former executive of public utility Westar Energy have asked for him to be released from prison as he waits to be resentenced in a bank fraud case.

Citing a recent decision by a federal appeals court reversing and remanding the sentence, attorneys for David C. Wittig also asked for the resentencing to be expedited in a motion filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.
