Emissions Limits Will Help Cure Oil Addiction: Jackson

Law360, New York (April 28, 2010, 1:32 PM EDT) -- Newly adopted federal motor vehicle emissions standards will not only reduce harmful greenhouse gases, but will also help the U.S. substantially reduce its dependence on foreign oil, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson told lawmakers Wednesday.

Members of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce's energy and the environment subcommittee met to examine the impact of oil dependence on the economy and national security, and how recent EPA regulations and future policies could reduce that dependence.
