British Airways Execs' Price-Fixing Trial Kicks Off

Law360, New York (April 26, 2010, 4:14 PM EDT) -- A London court held the first day of oral arguments Monday in a trial accusing four British Airways PLC employees of conspiring with Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. to fix the price of plane tickets, according to a spokesman for the U.K.'s competition watchdog.

The trial comes after the U.K. Office of Fair Trading levied a £121 million fine ($186 million in current dollars) against British Airways in 2007 for colluding with Virgin to fix the price of fuel surcharges on long-haul flights. At the time, the...
