Grassley Asks SEC Why Porn Surfers Weren't Axed

Law360, New York (April 28, 2010, 12:24 PM EDT) -- Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has asked the head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to explain why the agency didn't fire senior SEC staffers for surfing porn sites on government time, saying some of the employees received only warning letters.

Grassley wrote SEC Chairwoman Mary L. Schapiro on Tuesday requesting details on the consequences for the 33 workers or contractors who looked at porn, eight of whom have resigned and five of whom have been removed from SEC contracts.
