EPA Missed Western Clean Air Act Deadlines: CBD

Law360, New York (April 29, 2010, 5:25 PM EDT) -- The Center for Biological Diversity filed a lawsuit Thursday accusing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency of violating the Clean Air Act by not meeting several deadlines for reducing air pollution from particulate matter in five Western states.

According to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the EPA has not determined whether Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Montana and Nevada have met the national ambient air quality standard for particulate matter less than 10 microns in diameter, or PM-10.
