Age Discrimination Bill Slammed As Broad, Vague

Law360, New York (May 5, 2010, 4:11 PM EDT) -- A bill aimed at overturning a U.S. Supreme Court decision that made it harder for older workers to prove age bias would make sweeping changes to federal age discrimination law that would go far beyond Congress' original intent, witnesses told a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee Wednesday.

Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., the ranking member of the health, employment, labor and pensions subcommittee, was skeptical that the bill — H.R. 3721, the Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act — was as straightforward as purported.
