ITC To Scrutinize Chinese Agricultural Trade Barriers

Law360, New York (May 3, 2010, 1:46 PM EDT) -- Based on concerns from the Senate Finance Committee, the U.S. International Trade Commission has opened an investigation into whether Chinese trade policies keep American agricultural products from being competitive in China.

The ITC will examine what effects the Chinese measures have on U.S. agricultural imports into China and issue a report on the condition of competition in that market. The report will also consider China's participation in global agricultural markets more broadly, the agency said Friday.
