Display Technologies Sues Rival Over Anti-Theft IP

Law360, New York (May 10, 2010, 1:09 PM EDT) -- Retail supplier Display Technologies Inc. has accused competitor Universal Surveillance Corp. of infringing three patents that cover anti-theft devices.

Display Technologies filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, claiming that Universal was on notice that it had infringed one of the patents-in-suit and made an empty pledge to pull the offending devices from the market.

The suit demands treble damages, disgorgement of ill-gotten profits, pre-judgment interest and an injunction against future sales of the targeted products.
