Ex-Fla. AGs To Head State's BP Spill Legal Team

Law360, New York (May 10, 2010, 6:16 PM EDT) -- Florida Gov. Charlie Crist on Monday appointed two former attorneys general of that state to head a newly formed legal team that will represent the state on issues related to the BP PLC oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Even though the governor has said he is not currently planning a lawsuit against BP, he announced that Jim Smith and Bob Butterworth would head the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Legal Advisory Council, a pro bono legal advisory group.
