Fannie Mae Wraps Up Probe Into Executive Pay

Law360, New York (January 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Mortgage giant Fannie Mae is on the verge of wrapping up an internal probe into the compensation and bonuses of several former executives implicated in the company’s accounting fraud scandal, according to the Office of Federal Housing and Enterprise Oversight.

OFHEO Chief James Lockart said that Fannie Mae hopes to finish the investigation by the end of February, and that the regulator had been in talks with the company about seeking disgorgement from some of the former executives, according to Dow Jones.
