Ex-Mattel Worker Wants RICO Claim Nixed In Bratz Suit

Law360, New York (May 11, 2010, 6:24 PM EDT) -- A former Mattel Inc. employee accused of taking trade secrets concerning Bratz dolls to his new position at MGA Entertainment Inc. has asked a court to throw out a counterclaim brought against him under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Carlos Gustavo Machado Gomez, one of the counterdefendants in the toymakers' long-running dispute over the popular dolls, lodged his motion to dismiss Mattel's first counterclaim Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
