Privity Proves to Be Downfall At Federal Circuit

Law360 (January 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has batted down a complaint against Jiffy Lube and a slew of other businesses, ruling that claims could not be pursued against the group since the plaintiff had already won a victory against the manufacturer of the infringing product.

On Thursday, the Federal Circuit rejected the infringement claims of Transclean Corp., letting Jiffy Lube, Regional Car Wash Distributors, Mike’s In and Out oil change, and a score of others, off the hook.
