NH Gov. Signs Jobs Bill Aimed At Deterring Layoffs

Law360, New York (May 12, 2010, 1:41 PM EDT) -- New Hampshire Democratic Gov. John Lynch has signed into law a measure that seeks to give businesses an incentive not to layoff workers.

The law, which Lynch signed Tuesday, would encourage companies to retain employees for part-time work instead of laying them off entirely. The state would make up an employee's lost wages through unemployment benefits.
