E.U. Fines Looming In Power Generation Cartel

Law360, New York (January 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- After postponing the decision once before, the European Commission’s antitrust authority is just days away from hitting some of the largest multinational firms in Europe and Asia with fines for their alleged involvement in an electricity-transmission technology cartel, sources say.

On Friday, Agence France Presse revealed that sources close to the matter believe that a decision regarding fines will be handed down Wednesday, nearly a month after a ruling was supposed to be issued on the matter.
