Okla. Jury Slams Allergan With $15M Botox Verdict

Law360, New York (May 13, 2010, 7:13 PM EDT) -- An Oklahoma state jury has hit Allergan Inc., the maker of wrinkle-treating drug Botox, with a $15 million verdict in a suit brought by a woman alleging she got sick after receiving injections of the drug.

"We believe this is the first case in the nation in which the jury has found that botulism-type symptoms have been caused by Botox," Anton Rupert, an attorney at Crowe & Dunlevy who represents the plaintiff, said in a statement Wednesday.
