Stryker Wins Dismissal Of Suit Over Hip Implant

Law360, New York (May 17, 2010, 1:10 PM EDT) -- Stryker Sales Corp. and Howmedica Osteonics Corp. have won summary judgment in a lawsuit over an allegedly faulty hip implant because the plaintiff failed to provide expert testimony that the device was defective.

Chief Judge William H. Steele of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama granted summary judgment to the medical device companies Thursday, dismissing the product liability suit with prejudice.
