Kagan Tells Senate She's Worth $1.8M

Law360, New York (May 18, 2010, 7:28 PM EDT) -- U.S. Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan has a net worth of about $1.8 million, she said Tuesday in her answers to a Senate Judiciary Committee questionnaire.

Kagan has nearly an equal amount of cash on hand — about $740,000 — and funds squirreled away in retirement accounts — just over $824,000 — according to her responses, sent from the White House to the committee in preparation for her confirmation hearings.

But she doesn't appear to have extensive securities holdings — just under $200,000 in mutual funds...
