Microsoft Takes Aim At Salesforce Over Software IP

Law360, New York (May 19, 2010, 3:34 PM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. has lodged a suit accusing Internet-based software sales company Salesforce.com Inc. of infringing nine patents for computer technology designed to improve customer-relationship management.

Salesforce has profited by selling CRM software as a service over the Internet, infringing business software models developed by Microsoft over the past 13 years or so, according to a nine-page complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
