Ohio Power Plant To Shut Down Over Pollution Issues

Law360, New York (May 19, 2010, 1:53 PM EDT) -- American Municipal Power Inc. has agreed to permanently retire a coal-fired power plant near Marietta, Ohio, as part of a settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over alleged violations of the Clean Air Act.

The EPA and the U.S. Department of Justice announced the settlement Tuesday, which resolves a suit the federal government brought in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio over AMP's R.H. Gorsuch Generating Station.
