WaMu Equity Holders Appeal Rejection Of Examiner

Law360, New York (May 20, 2010, 12:42 PM EDT) -- Shareholders in bankrupt Washington Mutual Inc. are appealing a judge's recent rejection of their request to appoint an independent examiner to look into the bank's proposed settlement with new owner JPMorgan Chase & Co. and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

WaMu's official committee of equity security holders notified the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on Wednesday that it would appeal the order denying the appointment of an examiner.
