FERC Issues Transparency Rule For Intrastate Pipelines

Law360, New York (May 21, 2010, 2:48 PM EDT) -- In a bid to improve price transparency in natural gas markets, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has issued a final rule requiring intrastate natural gas pipelines that also provide services across state lines to report transportation and storage data more frequently.

The finalized rule unveiled Thursday calls on intrastate pipelines providing transportation services across state borders under Section 311 of the Natural Gas Policy Act and Hinshaw pipelines operating under Section 1(c) of the Natural Gas Act to report detailed information on a quarterly basis, instead...
