False Grades Get Ex-Sidley Summer Assoc. 3-Year Ban

Law360, New York (May 20, 2010, 4:13 PM EDT) -- A former attorney who falsified his grades from the University of Chicago Law School in order to win a summer associate position at Sidley Austin LLP has been barred from practicing law for three years.

The Illinois Supreme Court on Tuesday suspended Loren Elliotte Friedman from practicing law for three years. Friedman must also receive court permission before resuming his practice, according to the order.
