Viagra Use Linked To Long-Term Hearing Loss

Law360, New York (May 21, 2010, 2:54 PM EDT) -- Findings published in a medical journal have linked Pfizer Inc.'s erectile dysfunction drug Viagra to long-term hearing loss, a determination that comes about two years after the drugmaker changed its label to warn consumers about a possible risk of sudden hearing loss.

Gerald McGwin, a professor of epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, said there was also a possibility that other phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors drugs, such as Eli Lilly & Co.'s Cialis and Bayer AG's Levitra, cause long-term hearing loss, but those results...
