HP Adds 54K More Computer Batteries To Recall

Law360, New York (May 21, 2010, 5:48 PM EDT) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. has warned that another 54,000 lithium-ion battery packs used in its notebook computers could overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

HP announced the expanded recall Wednesday as a follow-up to its May 2009 recall of about 70,000 battery packs. Both recalls were voluntary and in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
