Suit Against MSHA Over Massey Blast Interviews Nixed

Law360, New York (May 24, 2010, 3:04 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has thrown out a suit seeking to block the Mine Safety and Health Administration from conducting private investigative interviews as part of its probe into the worst coal mine disaster in four decades, saying the plaintiffs didn't convince her the court had jurisdiction over the dispute.

Judge Irene C. Berger of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia issued an opinion and order granting the federal government's motion to dismiss the case Thursday.
