Campaign Finance Bill Clears 1st Hurdle In House

Law360, New York (May 24, 2010, 12:44 PM EDT) -- The House Administration Committee has approved legislation aimed at counteracting the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, marking the first step for the bill as its sponsors attempt to push it through before midterm elections.

By a 5-3 vote Thursday the House Administration Committee favorably reported out H.R. 5175, the Democracy Is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections Act, as amended.
