WaMu Shareholders Ask For JPMorgan Files

Law360, New York (May 25, 2010, 7:17 PM EDT) -- Shareholders of bankrupt Washington Mutual Inc. on Tuesday asked a federal court for permission to investigate the bank's new owner JPMorgan Chase & Co. concerning its role in the largest thrift failure in U.S. history.

In a motion before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, WaMu's official committee of equity security holders requested the right to examine JPMorgan documents and to conduct oral examinations concerning a proposed global settlement agreement.
