SEC OK's Updates To NASD Arbitration Code

Law360, New York (January 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved several changes to the National Association of Securities Dealers’ arbitration code, which had been proposed by the self-regulatory association in an effort to make arbitration and mediation more transparent.

The changes to the arbitration code come about a year after a revision of the NASD’s mediation code went into effect on Jan. 30, 2006. The changes to the customer and industry code are scheduled for implementation in April, although an exact date has yet to be determined....
