Industry Group Disbands Over Antitrust Claims

Law360, New York (January 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A group of health care executives accused by the Connecticut Attorney General of engaging in anti-competitive deals with vendors has agreed to disband the organization.

The executives in charge of Florida-based Healthcare Research and Development Institute LLC have agreed to dissolve the group as part of a settlement with Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum.

In addition, HRDI, a for-profit company owned by the chief executives of hospitals and health care companies nationwide, will also pay the state of Connecticut $150,000....
