Bayer Sues Teva Over Generic Yaz

Law360, New York (June 1, 2010, 5:57 PM EDT) -- Bayer Schering Pharma AG accused Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. of infringing three patents for Yaz on Tuesday, the same day the generics maker launched its own version of the contraceptive.

The German drugmaker filed the complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

The complaint asks the court to delay the release of Teva's generic version of Yaz, which is also marketed as Yasmin, until June 30, 2014, when the asserted patents expire.
