Marathon Seeks Contempt Order In Asphalt Spill Case

Law360, New York (June 2, 2010, 5:47 PM EDT) -- Marathon Petroleum Co. LLC has filed an emergency bid for an order holding storage company Midwest Marine Inc. in contempt of court, the latest action in a contract dispute stemming from a 2009 liquid asphalt spill.

Marathon, which produces and markets liquid asphalt, filed its motion Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, seeking to force Midwest to turn over a tank containing liquid asphalt recovered from the spill.
