Hasbro Targets Lanard, Buzz Bee Over Toy Gun Patents

Law360, New York (June 2, 2010, 3:01 PM EDT) -- Hasbro Inc. fired off a pair of lawsuits Wednesday accusing rival toy makers Lanard Inc. and Buzz Bee Toys Inc. of infringing patents related to its Nerf-brand toy guns.

Hasbro filed the suits in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, claiming that both Lanard and Buzz Bee have willfully violated two patents covering its Nerf-N-Strike Disc Shot Blaster. The complaint against Buzz Bee also alleges infringement of an additional patent related to the plaintiff's Nerf Super Soaker.
