Rivals Protest Microsoft Vista In E.U.

Law360, New York (January 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Just days before the launch of Microsoft Corp.’s new operating system, Windows Vista, a coalition of software rivals has complained to European antitrust authorities, arguing that Vista will perpetuate illegal competition practices.

The European Committee for Interoperable Systems told the European Commission that Vista will stifle competition on the PC and server markets and urged it to “take a decision as fast as possible” regarding a complaint it filed in 2006.
