USDA Solicits Input On Global Food Safety Rules

Law360, New York (June 4, 2010, 1:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service on Friday issued a call for comments on international sanitary and phytosanitary food standards and revisions set to be discussed at an upcoming meeting of the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

The FSIS published a notice in the Federal Register informing industry and public stakeholders about the sanitary and phytosanitary standard-setting activities slated for discussion and seeking comments from interested parties ahead of the Codex's next scheduled meeting in Geneva from July 5 to 9.
